It’s quite doubtful that a Russian or Ukrainian lady would go through the Marriage process to immigrate to the US unless she was totally serious. The requirements for the K-1 Visa process alone would dissuade most people. The process to obtain one of these Visas can take 3-9 months. After this, a lady can come to the country but she must marry within 90 days of entry into the US. Obtaining work permits takes even longer and becoming a full-fledged citizen will take at least 3-5 years. That is a REALLY long time to be with someone you are not interested in. If you and a lady “hit it off”, it’s extremely unlikely that she would go through all of this unless she was seriously interested in you.

Age Differences between Western Men and Russian Ladies

We have spoken about age differences in couples quite a lot on the past – normally each couple decides for themselves what is “appropriate”. Some Russian girls will be much more open about dating an older or younger man than others will, and so will Western gentlemen. In practice, a 5-10 year gap between two people is normal, but as age can be much less of a taboo for Russian ladies than it can be for Western ladies, it depends on the preferences of each individual.
